Modern industries run on sensor data. From condition monitoring and predictive maintenance to real-time digital twins, organizations rely on sensors to observe systems and feed AI-driven decisions. As these deployments scale, vast amounts of sensor data must be collected and processed continuously. bitteiler is built for exactly these data-intensive environments. Wherever sensors generate critical data, bitteiler belongs.
No matter how your data travels, bitteiler reduces it at the source before connectivity becomes the constraint. Industrial and wireless networks alike operate under bandwidth limits, payload restrictions, energy constraints, and cost pressures that ultimately limit how much sensor intelligence can be transmitted. bitteiler removes this bottleneck by applying intelligent, lossless compression directly within the device firmware, prior to protocol and transport stack processing. The compression is fully transparent to the communication stack: protocols, endpoints, and existing security mechanisms remain unchanged. The only difference is that each transmission carries significantly less data, reducing network load, cloud usage, and operational costs while enabling more scalable and efficient IoT deployments.
The number of connected sensors is growing exponentially. From industrial machines and energy infrastructure to mobility and smart environments, devices continuously generate high-frequency data streams.
Yet the infrastructure moving this data has not evolved at the same pace.
Bandwidth constraints, energy consumption, transmission costs, and reliability limitations create a structural bottleneck. As a result, IoT deployments are often forced to compromise on sampling rates, battery life, scalability, or data quality.
We believe IoT cannot reach its full potential unless data transmission itself becomes intelligent.
IoT deployments are forced into an impossible tradeoff: transmit less data and lose critical insights, or transmit everything and overwhelm networks, drain batteries, and drive-up costs. bitteiler eliminates this tradeoff. Our AI-powered compression technology enables IoT devices to transmit complete, high-fidelity sensor data over constrained networks—fully lossless, energy-efficient, and without changing existing infrastructure. By intelligently adapting to each sensor’s data characteristics, bitteiler unlocks the full value of your sensor infrastructure, enabling predictive maintenance, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making at scale.
Maroua and Máté's paths crossed while pursuing their Ph.D. studies at TU Dresden, where their research interests in data coding and compression intersected, albeit from contrasting vantages (Maroua's being theoretical and Máté's, practical). With their defences delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they sought a productive diversion and joined forces for the 2021 Telekom Challenge. Their collaboration was rewarded with a second-place finish, securing a €125,000 prize. This achievement, along with encouragement from T-Systems, which saw substantial promise in their project, led them to found bitteiler. As the first step towards establishing bitteiler GmbH, they turned to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK) for a research transfer grant, leveraging this momentum to lay the groundwork for their venture in 2022

bitteiler creates value in any use case where sensors generate data.
